BJX is served by Continental Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and Aeromexico.
The second option is Aeropuerto Internacional de Queretaro (QRO). It is only 50 minutes away from San Miguel de Allende. However, it is only served by Continental Airlines and Aeromexico, and there is only one direct flight back to the US on a daily basis.
The third option is Benito Juarez Airport (MEX), in Mexico City. When traveling by car or van, it is 4 hours away from San Miguel de Allende. It is not a surprise to experience heavy traffic since it is the biggest city world wide. Most airline companies fly to MEX.
